87Miss Teresita, For Those Of You Who Are Incredulous
Once upon a time, a very long time ago, when I was a kid; when I was twelve years old, to be exact, a very important thing happened to me. Well, I would say that I made it happen. Yes, I made a pact with someone, and it payed off.
Every Saturday, my mother would go get Teresita, an old lady about the age of my own grandmother, to come and spend the day with us. My mother did this so that Teresita, who was an old friend of the family, would not spend her last days alone in her small apartment watching TV or listening to the radio, but so she could come to our house and witness and partake of the commotion that happens when there are several people of different ages living in the same household, including kids (me and my brother) and another old lady (my grandmother, my mother's mother) maids and pets of all kinds.
It was funny/curious, because my grandmother never really got up out of the hammock to talk to Teresita much; it is like she was jealous of her or something....so I was the one who would talk to her and keep her entertained while my mother would be out doing errands; paying bills and buying groceries, or going to the beauty salon. My mother would turn the TV on for Teresita while she went out to do her errands, and at least she would be watching the soap operas accompanied by me, instead of being alone in her small apartment. Many a time, I would accompany my mother to go and get her, or to take her back home to her little apartment....and so the scene was my mother and me, ushering a thin, wirey old woman, (one who looked like the school teacher that she was; and I would respectfully say she looked very much like an old Popeye's Olive Oyle) to and from our car....she would go slowly, her wooden cane almost bigger than she was....as she slid and dragged her feet over the ground. I remember it was a chore just to get her to get into the front seat...."Turn around, Teresita, fanny first, fanny first."
So, it was one of those Saturdays when I got my bright idea. We were sitting at the back porch where the TV was, and I thought of making a pact with Teresita. I approached her, knelt down in front of the couch where she was, and said, "Teresita, why don't we make a pact? I know that I am young, and you are old, but it does not mean that you will die sooner than I will (but, I did know that the probablilty was that she'd die sooner; of course I didn't say that). Lots of kids die in car accidents or from diseases. So, that being said, why don't we make a pact? The pact will be that whoever dies first, will do everything possible in their power to come back and tell the other person that, yes, there is life after death, and if nothing happens, then we are to assume that there is no such thing, life after death, or at least we will know that the person was unable to come back and report it." Teresita agreed; She thought it was a great idea, and so we shook hands over the matter, and told ourselves internally that we would never forget that moment, so be it.
Time passed, and I became 13, 14, 15, 16..and, I believe Teresita died when I was about 16 years old. One day, my mother told me she was in the hospital for some ailment, such as Pneumonia, and a short time later, she was no more. My mother came to tell me she had died. Uh oh. We went out to where her tomb was to put some flowers on her grave. I was so nervous that night, the night that she died, thinking that, Tere would come and pull on my feet....(my grandmother would always say from her hammock perch, "Te voy a jalar los pies cuando me muera," meaning, "I'll come and pull on your feet when I die...." when anyone would "misbehave." I waited a day, and nothing happened....I waited another day, and nothing. I waited a week, and nothing. By the third week, I had forgotten the whole mess. I thought to myself, "Oh, nothing's going to happen," and I was right....it didn't!
Four years later, I got married. Two years after I got married, at the age of 22, I got a call from a real good friend of mine. She said to me, "Maria, I have a psychic lady here as a guest for a few days, and she has already done a reading for me and also one for my husband...but if you would like to invite her to dinner, I'm sure she will do you the favor of a reading, too!" So I said, "Why, sure, ask her if she can come over tomorrow night, and I will prepare a dinner for her." And so, the lady came over. Her name was Sally. Sally had some interesting talents. The first thing she showed us was how she could levitate her arm....but since one is attached to one's arm, I didn't think much of that talent....I mean, how can you tell if she is levitating it or just lifting it up? You couldn't, really! But at least she thought she was...But here comes the interesting part...After we ate dinner, and we were sitting in the living room, Sally unexpectedly said, "Maria, I see an old lady next to you. And, she is trying to tell you something." I said, "Oh, well, what does she look like?" Sally said, "She is a thin old lady, and has a long dress on, and has round glasses. Her hair is grey and up in a bun." I said, "Oh, that must be my grandmother, my father's mother...she was just like that." But Sally said, "No, she says she is not your grandmother. She says she is just a friend, and that you know the message. There is a message for you and you are supposed to know it already." I was clueless. I could not think of anyone else who could fit that description. But then Sally said, "Well, she has a cane, too; a rather large wooden cane." When Sally said that, all of the hairs on my arms stood up, and probably those on my head, too! At that moment I knew exactly who she meant. I said, "Oh, my God! The pact, the pact....I made a pact with an old lady friend when I was twelve years old," I exlained to Sally! "Oh, my God, Tere, I got the message! Thank you, thank you, thank you for getting it across! Now I know! Now I know that there IS life after death!"
And now YOU know, too, the rest of the story! This is a true story. No bull crap here! Only the truth comes out of my mouth and my "pen" (how things have changed! We don't even write with pens anymore!).

When you are in the spirit world, you can project any image that you hold inside of yourself. Teresita was projecting her Earthly image so that I would be able to recognize her. If she had projected a different image, I would not have recognized her, and hence, the message. I can assure you that the seer was not even from my town; she had just come in a few nights before, from far away...and she knew nobody in my town. My other friend, the one who sent her over to me, was unfamiliar with Teresita, and I had never spoken to anyone about our pact. I tell you, it was the message I had been waiting for....for years.....I don't have to prove it to anyone. The knowledge rests in me now, and it is not belief....it is knowledge.
You raise a very interesting question....Does knowledge precede belief, or does knowledge follow belief..? And, yes, you do not have to prove anything to anyone... but yourself, I would add...

exactly, it had to be a vision you would recognize. Excellent, it must be very gratifying for you to know the cetainty of life after death. I would cherish it if it happened to me, as I have often wanted it . My wife says it happens to her all the time, visits from people past. but only once awaken from a deep sleep did i ever get any visions like that. Great read, thanks.
To Maven101, I had believed before, that there was life after death, because of my faith, which is Catholic, and because of my mother, who was a saint, who instilled into all of her children, that there was life after death and that we should prepare by leading a good life. We are all taught about the life after death and it is the basis for believing the truth about Jesus, in the Catholic religion, etc. But there comes a moment in time when one needs to actually experience the truth, to truly make it a part of you; a need to know, not just blindly believe. That is what I was trying to do at the age of 12. I succeeded. Since that time, I have realized so many other things that are profound spiritual truths, that it makes that incident seem as child's play (and it was, for me). But I post this so that others might be sure of the fact, through my experience.
To THINKING OUT LOUD: You can do the same thing I did; just be sure to pick a trusting person, a serious minded person who would actually do a pact like this for you...I'm sure you have such a person in your life (we all do, have at least one serious-minded and trustworthy person) who would be willing to go ahead with this plan. I tell you, it was an exhilarating experience to go through. Let me recommend the book, Journey of Souls, by Michael Newton. It is a fabulous and well-written true account on what happens when we die. Thank you so much for your comment!

Hinduism believes in life after death. According to Hinduism, as long as one has unfulfilled desires there will be rebirth. There may be a time period before a rebirth when the soul can exist in the form of spirit. It is often said that committing suicide is bad because the soul will wander and suffer a lot before taking up a new body.
Heaven and hell are also accepted. If you do extraordinary good things or bad things in life, you enjoy or suffer respectively in heaven and hell. But taking rebirth afterwards in the earth is a must till all your karmas are exhausted, according to Hinduism.

Some time ago I read a book named "I have lived before" (the true story of the reincarnation of Shanti Devi, it is based in a real case and I think it's another proof of live after death. That book was very interesting to me.

Thank you for your comments. Since that experience that I had as a child, I can tell you that I can vouch for the fact that there exists life after death. I have come to realize many of my past lives and they are as real (have been as real) as the one that I am living right now. Ultimately, they say everything is a dream, so try and make this "dream" as good as it can be, not only for you, but for others as well. Then you will have a pleasant remembrance to look back to.

Yes, metaphysician, the value here, I think, is to live up to your word, always. If you say you are going to do something, do it. That way, people will know that they can count on you, and if something were to arise such as my experience here, there will be no doubt in anyone's mind that it was your definite response. In the case of Teresita, she was the embodiment of trust; a noble soul. That is why there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the pact was carried out and fullfilled.

Yes, as a matter of fact, life is a lot faster than you think. Sometimes it seems slow, but in reality, time flies. Before you know it, you'll be on the "other side!" Ha ha ha. Already, I know a lot of people that have already gone to the "other side." I just hope someone is over there in place to greet ME when I finally get over there.

When the word "Belief" is used then the person doesn't really know the truth. "I believe, you don't believe" has NO meaning in the true context.
If one knows the truth he WILL tell the truth. Are there any persons in the world talk like that. There will not be any person. Reason only the Acharyas can talk like that.
Because only they have learnt the vedas we ordinary mortals do not go in search of the truth and keeps beating around the bush and in turn get nothing in turn.
According to you "Unfulfilled Desires" causes re-birth. So if one has fulfilled desire then he/she will not take birth again according to YOU. Then where does the soul goes after that is another matter you can't answer because you have no idea.

First of all telling "According to Hinduism" is wrong. Those who follow Vedas are Hindus. Those who have no idea about Vedas are Not Hindus. You proved yourself that you have no idea about the vedas and your rather Vague statement stands proof for that.

The Vedas Say Either Good or Bad Actions both are sins. Both points to desires. A person committing bad Karma takes birth to suffer and one committing good Karma ALSO takes birth to Enjoy. What if I were to tell you that you will not find the God Vishnu or the Goddess in India at this present moment? Do you think it could be possible that they are incarnate and alive and breathing in flesh and blood in an other part of the world at this present moment? Do you think it is possible?
Vishnu means to pervade every where with out exception. There is no place where He is not present.
Air is present everywhere in this world. Space is present every where in the universe but you cannot see. Just like that Lord Vishnu is everywhere even though you cannot see Him. He has numerous names - Vishnu sahasranama. One can totally surrender to Him thru an acharya to attain salvation. This is not same as going to heaven which is only temporary. Moksham is eternal.
Yes, I know Vishnu. I know Shiv. I know Brahman, I know Krishna. I know Ram. I know Indra. They are all the same entity, just as the Goddess is Parv, Sita, Laxmi, Devi, Durga, Kali.
They are here now, here and now.

Do You believe the soul keeps taking births?
If Yes
Do You believe the soul will take any birth like animals, birds, plants, fish, insects according to the laws of karma?

Do You believe the repeated births and deaths can be avoided if you surrender to God?

Do You believe there is ONLY ONE God?

There is only one God. The truth is that we keep coming back here because we want to. We don't HAVE to. We can stay in the spiritual worlds if we want to. We are eternal. I am understanding more about God by the Eckhart Tolle materials...he is really good. Everyone should at least read ONE Eckhart Tolle book. I am definitely interested in enlightenment in this lifetime.
Shiva, Brahma and other Demigods and Demi-godess are not same entities.
Similarly Lakshmi, Saraswathi and Paarvathi are not same.

When There is no suitable entity for Brahma's Position then Vishnu himself will occupy Brahma's position.
"I am definitely interested in enlightenment in this lifetime" - This is the most important message from you and which will pave way to Moksha. But you need to take action ie SARANAGADHI.
Have you seen amoeba, virus but you believe because some authority (scientists) says so, so you believe.

I can assure you that Saraswati, Parvati, and Laxmi are one and the same entity. They are just different incarnations of same, and yes, of course they have different powers. Although I am not Indian in this lifetime, I have had 300+ Indian/Hindu lives. I would say that yes, Thou Shall Not Kill means exactly that...one should not kill anything...any living being. Every living being is precious, and is the spark of consciousness of the divine.

Are you aware of your previous births? I know people remembering previous births but that is rare. That is also said in vedas. But remembering 300+ is mind blowing quite interesting. I have read in a book that Pyhtogoras remembered 99000 lives.

When there is knowledge the truth is known and the belief vanishes. When somebody says "I believe" then it means he has NO knowledge.

You see the difference.
The darkness (ignorance) is removed by knowledge (light) and where is the question of one following or preceding the other.
It is a Rahasya (secret) Mantra and hence can't be told. It will be told only by the Guru Acharya to the one who is really interested to attain Moksha.

Yes, I remember certain lives. Thanks to the Indian tradition of keeping geneologies, I know the names of many of my previous lives but I don't necessarily remember all of them. I do remember feelings about several of my previous lives; the most important ones to me.
You have to accept it ONLY possible to attain Moksha by Saranagadhi and there is no other way really.
It is known as "Rahasya" meaning "Secret" in Tamil and Sanskrit.

If there is a life after death then where are they and what do they do? I mean do they sitt on a cloud and play ping pong with god or something? I'd really want to believe in a life after death but it's just weird that the dead haven't told us all about them. Do they walk among us? Just that we can't see them? Well that's a little creepy I believe, what if I'm going to the bathroom...

They do not walk among us. There is a tunnel and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Once we go into the light at the end of the tunnel, that is it for this lifetime; we will not be allowed back to the Earth plane until we have another life programmed out for us. What do we do over there? Well, my mother just died last year. I was told that she first found herself in a large never-ending and beautiful green park, with trees and grass, where there were park benches...that was where she was met by other loved ones from other lives that she shared, young and old people, and they gathered around her to welcome her to the spiritual plane. I don't know where she went from there, but there are actual places in the spiritual realm, just like there is a New York and a San Francisco on the Earth plane, where one can go. There is a plan over there as well as a plan down here, and there are teachers and masters that she must see there, to further her progress. But when we come over from a lifetime on Earth (which is very stressful) I think there is a rest period, to fully recuperate. After you recuperate you go over your life with one of the guides or masters, and talk about what was learned and accomplished. Life is much like going to a school....always learning.

Awesome! I hope you'r right, would have been boring if life just ended. I'm going to die with a smile on my face! But in like 90 years or so. But I got to ask, do you believe God is there? And shouldn't it become a LOT of people there, I mean there's a lot of dead people. Also, if Tere couldn't come back to you then how did she appear in front of the old lady?

Yes, there are a lot of dead souls but God recycles them into new lives on Earth and elsewhere. In other words, you will be reborn. You think God doesn't have a handle on recycling? I believe that there's two opposits of what rules over us, Faith and Control. We can understand Control and reason with it but not Faith. And Faith doesn't understand us either. I believe Faith and Control isn't a person or an item. It's in us all. I believe we're all devine, and that's why I believe that if we really want to, we can make the world stop and make a loop.

Well you are right in that God is not a particular gender. God is all that there is: we are swimming in It. But this "It" has conscious awareness. Else I wouldn't be writing this, and you wouldn't be refuting it. God is like the ocean, and we are the fish in the sea...totally submerged. We call God our "father" because it is what created us. But you can also call God "mother," and it will not make one bit of difference. It doesn't matter to God what we call It, just as long as we acknowledge It, because, It loves Its creation, and likes that....It likes to be acknowledged and spoken to, and communicated with. It likes to experience everything....in every world and in every universe....to answer your question about why Tere decided to come back at that moment, it was because she knew that I was not sensitive enough to perceive her on my own, and she waited patiently until a psychic person came my way....one who could actually perceive her. I am so thankful to her for waiting for that long...(well, in Earth years, that is....) I don't know how that translates in time over in the spiritual worlds because I believe there is no time over there; or it is perceived differently...
What a wonderful hub! I believe there is life after death. When we die we judge ourselves in the divine light of reality and choose where we end up. God exists. No doubt about that. I think though, that each soul is born only once...

Yes, we do just that...we are the ones who ultimately judge ourselves. But God is of an infinite mercy, and IT would like us all to graduate from this school. So you may view your different incarnations as grade levels of learning. It is not a matter of belief. It is a matter of knowing what IS. There is no doubt in my mind that we ALL reincarnate as many times as is necessary to iron out all of our issues so that we may eventually bask in the love and light of our creator, when we are finally purified enough to be worthy. At this moment I think that only Jesus is worthy. we all have a long way to go, but we all must learn about the many facets of LOVE without a doubt.

Thank you for the interesting story. Because I have been an intuitive reader for over 25 years I find the story to be familiar. It really is possible to see (almost like a dream) an image standing at your side. The image is not at all like a physical human body. If you close your eyes and try to imagine your own grandmom or friend or even your dog-you will know exactly how a psychic sees those from the other side.
Additionally, it is good to hear favorable feedback concerning intuitive readings. So many who promise to be intuitive are not. This is just too bad for those of us who really do wish to share this gift. Anyway, good work on all your hubs. Good topics....

this is a small story but I think you will like it :).
When I was in foster care my foster mom one day came out of her room in the morning and told me she had had a very weird experience in the shower. She said that she had felt her uncle was there with her, but he was alive! She thought it was so weird she wanted to tell someone and knew that I was interested in the unseen things of this world. We both agreed it was odd and got on with the day. Later that afternoon there was a call, her uncle had died very early that morning! We both were convinced that he had passed through as a way of trying to say good bye.
Yes, yes, definitely, Kirstenblog, I have also heard that sometimes just as someone is dying they will retrace their steps. I was told my grandfather did just that as he was dying. My mother saw him traverse the house, and go into his room, and all the way around the house on the inside, so as to "take one last look." I never forgot that, either. Things from the spirit world that we know very little of....interesting stuff!
I am glad you enjoyed my little story :). It is my only personal type experience. I have read loads of stories and books about this sort of stuff. I do not find it difficult to believe these kinds of stories and experiences as I personally believe that I am more then just the sum of my parts. I am more then just electrical synapses and chemical balances. The nature of the after life is a mystery that will not be revealed to me so long as I am alive but its a lot of fun to try to imagine. I read this book (can't remember what it was called) that was written by a woman who channeled spirits through automatic writing, she channeled the spirit of a dead psychic to write this book describing the after life. The way it was described was beautiful, I would recommend it if I could remember the name- might have to try to find it later :).
You would really enjoy Michael Newton's books. He is a Psychologist or Psychiatrist who does regressions and has written several books on the subject. I started with Journey of Souls. You will not put it down. Then there is the second book, which I also read. He compiled a "roadmap" of the afterlife by bits and pieces given to him through different sessions with different people. In the afterlife there are actual places where you can visit and they will coincide with what other people "report" who have come back from the afterlife to live and tell about it. Highly interesting material if you want to know what is over there.....on the other side!

Do you believe that Alaska exists? Have you ever been there? I have not, but I believe people who tell me that they've been there. Just because I have not had the experience of Alaska does not mean that it does not exist. And I do hope to visit there sometime before I die to this life, if I'm not too old. Tell us about the lives we have there, and the things we do on the "other" side, if you can. I think you are right. I do know that most of the time we are "studying" to be better.
But I want to know what you say about it. My mother died in March of 08. I wonder what she's been up to over there.
Some rest for a few---time is not the same as it is here. A few months there could be many years here. Some want to come right back as soon as they can. Just as we have past lives here we also have those past lives there (home).
For instance, I haven't written about this one yet, I was brought to a place that I remembered being in there many years ago. It was not in a gold building or anything like that. I was with a lot of others where I was and we lived in like tents, but the tents weren't of canvas, they were like sheer curtain material. All of them were see through and no one minded because we didn't have these kinds of bodies we have here. The colors there are so much more brighter there. These structures were our homes while we were there. We were near a stream and it flowed so clear and made such a beautiful noise and it flowed down stream and around a bend. We would go down to this stream and just wade our feet in it. Some would hop in and play, but most of us just sat there in rest and repose. It was a quiet place there and very serene. Sometimes I even wonder why I left there to come here. This place on this Earth is a learning place--a school if you will. We learn all the what if's and gain knowledge about ourselves through all the other contacts that we have here because most of those are the one's whom we have always had at our home. Everyone helps others grow.
There are schools elewhere too, not just our planet. Even there there are things to do and see and learn. We never truly rest as in sleep. I do know that there is a kind of initiation period of about 3 months (our time) and some can be a bit longer or even shorter. It's just a time to reaquaint us to there and also to review what he learned and what we need to work on more and devise a plan on getting that accomplished.
That is why Jesus says that there are many rooms in his mansion and that he needs time to prepare one for those coming back home.

At a gala in Houston where swarms of people filled the Alley Theatre, physics were hired for the "entertainment" that night. I was told things that in no other way could have been known to those psychics regarding my deceased father and brother. Yes...I believe in an afterlife and also believe some people have the gift of being able to communicate with ones who have entered the spirit world. Of course there are the ones who operate as psychics and who are fakes. This makes many people skeptical of all of them.

Yes, George Papa, that is a valid concern. No, Hitler and similar mindsets will not be in the same place as Mother Teresa. When you are in the spirit world, you will be with people of like vibrations, unlike here on Earth. The reason why we are all jumbled up here on Earth, with a diversity of people with different vibrations than ours, is that accelerated learning comes with conflict. And, when you are put in the same room with people who think and feel differently than yourself, well, that creates conflict and conflict creates learning, believe it or not; the friction does. In the spiritual planes, or realms, you are happier because you naturally float to your highest possible vibration....and there you are met with others of like mind. If that turns out to be a hell, well, then it is....but, no, you will not be with people who hurt you. In the Bible it says that there are "many mansions" in heaven, meaning that there is a place for everyone, "good," or "bad."

As for reincarnation, I know many of my past lives and I know for a fact that I have always been female. But I guess one could be the opposite sex if that is the only opportunity one will have to re-enter or if that particular experience is needed for growth; which brings me to the topic of soulmates and twin souls. A soulmate is a person, female or male, whom you have had many incarnations with, and therefore feel a kinship with. Everyone has encountered people in their lives who you just "click" with instantly. You feel you've known them all your life. These are soulmates. But the twin soul is more than a soulmate. A twin soul is the other half of you which is of an opposite gender. I have also encountered my twin soul and have had several lives together with him although he is not with me now, but he is on the Earth at this time. The twin soul is a reality and don't let anyone tell you it is not. I've known that reality, that is why I speak of it.

You do know that psychics have been 100% proven to be false now, they are usually people with good interpersonal skills and research skills. It's easy to trick information out of someone. So i'm not saying that life after death doesn't happen as I have no proof of that, but it is 100% confirmed that ALL psychics are frauds.

When I read this, my first thought was: did you ever mention this 'pact' to the friend you referred to who arranged for you to meet with this psychic? Unfortunately,there are 'mediums' who are very cunning in their ability to pry 'preview' information about their subjects. Don't get me wrong, I had an experience immediately following my mother's death (when I was a teenager) that made a lasting impression on me - and while I still have questions (if not doubts) about the likelihood of life after death, I certainly can't rule it out.

Hello, i read a few articles at the top, too many to read them all. I am looking for proof of life after death, as i'm sure many who have posted are. Maricarbo story i beleive and i hope that something like that happens to me as i cant help but think about what will happen to me and everyone i care about when they die.
I suppose i will need to go to a medium/psychic person who has no idea who i am to see if anyone who is on the otherside contacts them and gives proof of who they are.

TAPS is an organization using science to prove existence of spiritual entities. The Trilogy "Conversations with God" is an example of inpiration experienced by the author. I had an engineering collegue that lived in a haunted house. His young sister had an invisible friend named Hagen. Many years later, they discovered that the owner of the property in the 1800s was indeed named Hagen. This engineer was a skeptic in every way, except one, he believed very much in ghosts. These invisible entities moved things right before his eyes, such as radio dials. I believe as we advance in technology, it will be possible to communicate with the other side just as easily as using the phone. I believe in life after death, and have had a few experiences myself that can't be explained. But I don't look for explanations - I just accept that there is a lot more going on than any of us can understand or our five senses can perceive.

Yes,there is life after death. I am a survivor. I cannot comment on the actual atmosphere without taking some of you for years of study. That's why I wish that I could get the understanding to you of how your atmosphere is created.

Also, you say the only thing that remains is in the memories of the people. Do you mean life after death exists only in the minds of the living because they can remember the dead?
With the knowledge you have gained from your experience have you put that to use in showing all the world that you have proved life after death? Billions have been looking for signs, but none have seen them. If you have then should not by now that have become commonly known worldwide?

I had never met this woman and met her actually far away from my house while visiting my boyfriend. The appointment I made with her was a life-changing experience. She described a brother like figure who wanted to say something. I don't have any brothers. She said he looked like a me a little bit and he wanted to tell his mom that he was sorry for the way things happened. Its so informative and i also believe in live after death. I love my grand ma. she died 3 years back. But i will not accept that she have died. Most of the times i could realize that she teaches me the things to do and dont. I still believe that she is showing me the good path. I always feel that she lives near to me. I have been with many people at the time of death. Some were revived and all who came back immensely changed their values. i kind of stoped beliveing when my close friends and family started to pass away at such a young age. some of them were so young. and it seems so unfair. i think if there is a god how can this happen.
Interesting story. But in fact if it prooves anything, it will do just for you. It prooves to you that there is some sort of life after death, and also prooves that some psychics are real as well.
On the other hand, talking with a religious catholic man I know about this issue, he told me that the problem is not finding proofs, there are many, the problem is knowing if they are real, sice that's the way devil uses to confuse our minds.

Since our SUBCONSCIOUS is always in communication with all subconscious minds on Earth, it is quite possible that the subconscious mind of the deceased can communicate with you. However it could be our own creation this question and answer thing. Perhaps since we have 25& of DNA each from our mother/father /grandfather/grandmother. I use to know a person who did readings. They always ask a ton of questions. They friend who told you about the psyhic always told the psyhic about the story of the old lady you made a pack with.
I know for a fact, there is life after death. When I was 13, I had a girlfriend that I spent time with. She had a 14 year old sister whom I never saw as she was upstairs in bed for an illness. She passed away one day, and that night my girlfriend stayed over night with me. We were both laying there and talking. All of a sudden a beautiful young girl with red hair, and a peach colored dress stood at the foot of our bed. I said to my girlfriend, do you see what I see?? She replied yes. Then she was no longer there.
The next day, I went to my girlfriends house down the street. I walked in the front door which was open. And there was the casket. In the casket, there lay that beautiful girl, her red hair in the updo that we saw her with. And the gown she was being showed in was peach colored. There she was. The girl that appeared at the foot of our bed the night before.
Since that time, I have had a few more proofs that there sure is life after death.
Another account was when my husbands cousin passed away from cancer. We had just gotten back from vacation and heard of her death. So we went to see her. The small room the casket was in, in those days people were laid out in the home, the room was about ten by about six or seven. Just enough for the casket.
I knelt on the stool next to the casket and said a prayer. I was very fond of Isabel. When I was done praying, I looked up and all of a sudden what appeard as steam or smoke arose from her body and kept going up. There was no one in the room but her husband and my husband, who were over by the room opening talking. I had the shock of my life when I saw that going up. I got up and since I was so shaken, all I could do was cry. The husband tried to comfort me saying she was in a better place. Well, in those days you didn't talk about things like that. No one would believe you. To this day, I am sure I saw her leaving her body and on her way up to wherever she would end up.
I have had a few more things like this happen to me. Each one was different. I also can tell people there is also life after death of a pet.
One night as we were staying at my sisters place in Virginia, I had to use the restroom. I got out of bed and there at the foot of our bed, was her boxer who she had put down a few years before. He got up and walked into the hall and disappeared.
Two things here make things so different. The beautiful young girl was just like you or me. She was solid. Not like the ghosts people pertray. I couldn't see thru her. She was just like another person. But the dog, even tho I could make out the complete dog, I could see thru him.
So now I tell people who are grieving about a pet that they had lost, I can tell them the story about the boxer and let them know there is life even for our pets.
There has been other visitations, but these two were the most apparent.
I try to tell people yes, there is life after death, because I have seen it.
my brother died last year, he was passionate about numerology, and studying life after death. Twice after his death, his daughter spoke on her phone which has a recorder to him, once in my presence. While we could not hear him when she spoke, when the tapes are played back, he answers her questions clearly. I have never heard or anything like this. Before his death I considered myself to be agnostic, but since the tapes, I know, that life exists after death. My brothers name was Steve, I miss him alot. Thank you for sharing your story.
I really dont believe in life after death
A very thought provoking article here. Although I wish greatly something like this would happen to me. I used to believe in the afterlife. But since my Fathers death when I was 7, I have had no signs at all (I am now 18) And I know for a fact, if my father had the power to, he would have sent me one by now. This has changed my view and I no longer believe. But this is very depresing as you can imagine, as now I am afraid of death because I do not want to simply "cease to exist". I have tried desperately to revert back to my old belief, but I just can't. I desperately need something like this to convince myself once again. You are lucky to have had this sort of experience.
This isn't a valid proof. It's a common trick to play with the most probable elements - common names, old people with canes, etc. It's quite probable that at the age of 22 one has lost some old friends, isn't it? She hadn't mentioned the name of the lady and she hadn't said the most important thing - the message. "You know what it is" is just a cheap way to smear things up and make you wonder. If it doesn't work, which is quite probable, then you can't really accuse the psychic of bullshitting you since they don't mention anything specific. Thus, they put the burden on you, your memory and your experience with the dead person.
i can relate to the original story posted two years ago,
when i was little there was this elderly man that lived on my dads property in a little room. he grew up with my dad and also watch me grow to a certain age, we were fairly close, but we did not make a pact or that sort of thing. when passed on a few days after he appeared in my dream, in my dream i ask him how come you still here, he replies that "i wasnt dead and before they could burry me i jumped out" , the dream ended. a few days after i have another dream, in this dream he tells me " i will be leaving now and wont be returning agian" i treid understanding both these dreams but couldnt until i read this ladies story. but who knows for sure it could be all in your head or there could be realy spirits roming the earth until they find their way into the world meant for them! the only way we will know if there is life after death is by us dying ourselfs! thank you.!

I'm afraid this isn't proof of life after death. It is proof that some people have a psychic ability to pick up information stored in another's head and misinterpret it as a message from beyond the grave. That's how mediums work. They don't actually speak to dead people - they read information in our brains a bit like wireless connection. I've had countless messages where the general identity of somebody I've know has been revealed but their other comments have been entirely inaccurate, or I've even had so-called "messages" from people who are still alive!!
When you die you have no body, no eyes so you can't see, no ears so you can't hear, no mouth so you can't speak and no brain so you can't think. How exactly is communication with the dead supposed to work when you are nothing?

Many years ago when I was 26, I had a cousin I was not close to who as 30 yr. One day in August it was extremely hot and I was sweltering in my apartment when suddenly my cousin was in the living room. I thought at first she came in without knocking and was trying to be polite, but was irritated. She looked at me and said, "I have just come to say goodbye", and disappeared. First thing I did was jump in the shower (must be heat stroke, seriously). When I came out of the shower, the phone was ringing and it was my aunt telling me that my cousin had just been killed in an auto accident.
To Jonathan: We really don't know that people are nothing after they die and since you have had psychic experiences, how can you explain a psychic who predicts things way into the future, which a good psychic can go.

While this is a nice and touching story, it is an anecdote and as such is proof of nothing. The reason why there are so many stories like this is because most of us want to believe there is something beyond this life - so much so that we will latch on to any little thing that might lead us to believe there is life after death. Just because we want to believe it, doesn't make it so.
Also, that psychic was definitely a fake. Do some research on "cold reading" and find out how these scam artists operate - anyone can learn to do it.

In my early 20s, I was living in a 4bedroom boarding house that had only 7 residents including me, the other 3 boarders and 2 maids. One sunny morning, as i waited for my taxi in the kitchen among one other boarder and both of the maids, i saw a tall woman wearing a long white gown with very long curly shiny black hair walk (or glide) by the door that openned to the dining room from the kitchen. my initial reaction was admiration of her hair! I asked the maids if there was a new boarder that moved in? or someones guest? and i stressed on how beautiful her hair was. i even thought if she was a model. then one of the maids said, "oh you can see her too? she's the nymph who lives in the Tamarind tree in the front yard! She's so beautiful isnt she?" When she told me that all of a sudden the fear shot through me (15 years later my hair the back of my neck still sands when i recall her image). i reacted with disbelief and asked, "what? is she like a "white lady" type of ghost?" but the maid said, "no, shes not a ghost, shes a nymph, a fairy, an "encantada". Then the maid tells me more of the other " beings" she " sees" . But my taxi arrived so i left. That night when i got home, i realized that the tamarind tree the maid mentioned was right by the gate. so i would say a little message in my mind to the nymph not to scare me. I never saw her again after. But I will never forget her, especially her hair!!!
interesting, but I can't see any "Irrefutable Proof" presneted that an afterlife exists. You ask the reader to assume a great deal and accept your suppositions as true, for example that someone can be a psychic. Do you have any evidence other than your testimony? Pictures, corraborating testimony from impartial 3rd parties, anything objectively measureable etc.?

I find all of the above stories facinating. I know some people believe they are lies or that everyone is delusional. But from my experience, I know that life exists and I believe someone else can have a similar experience. To the person who said their father did not send a sign, that doesn't mean there is no life after death. Every one does not send a sign. My grandmother was a wonderful woman and loved me dearly but never one sign from her. Like I said above, I received a sign from someone I was not close to and I worked with a woman who received a sign from her teacher when she passed away. She did not know why, but the teacher was young and healthy when she passed, but not close to my co-worker.
You are correct, maricarbo! You do not have to prove your personal beliefs to anyone. Being beliefs, they are intangibles; being personal you are not imposing them on others anyway.

You can never convince skepticals regarding life after death.question.I personally know a person who had died whole the nightand the following morning he suddenly woke and told that some other person of the same name was to die. Later people confirmed his version. My own grand maternal mother died after a while she revived and told that it was not her turn but of her daughter. Before her disclouser our mother sister was passed away. so spekticals canot be covinced leave them alone.

maricarbo, i think i have gotten a few of these messages but im not sure. my mom had a friend before i was born who died in a car accident. he was type 1 diabetic. he ended up having a low in the car and crashed killing him instantly. i have been told what he looked like. but anyways, i have dreams where i see a person who looks like his description. he is just standing to the side but i always looks like he is trying to say something. ive tried to talk with my mom about it but she tears up if i do and runs off. im not sure what i need to do.

A psychic stating, 'you know the message' could mean anything and is a pretty woolly statement. I would have been more convinced if the message had been - i couldn't pull your feet. It exists. But anyway, that still wouldn't have been irrefutable and here's why.
If a psychic was to state the latter message, there are 3 possibilities (both pretty impressive)
Option 1 - the psychic is actually communicating with the entity.
Option 2 - the psychic is able to pull information from the person who she is doing the reading for.
Option 3 - there is insider information that the psychic has - she is a fake.
Now, to me, the first 2 are beyond our understanding however, there is no way to actually understand which one it is, in this case. Option 3 is a no brainer..
The only way to prove it is to have a pact in which a message is written by each individual, locked away so that each person doesn't know the message and after death, have the psychic relay the message (at that time the message is then opened). If the messages match, this is as solid as the proof could get.
For me, that would be irrefutable evidence.
It's always a tricky one, as for those who have never had these experiences, and with so many frauds about, it can be hard to take in what people are telling you. Again, people will believe what they believe however even going to the lengths that i have stated, skeptics will still believe that it is rigged. Personally i would like to see this done and recorded in a way as to remove the element of mistrust.

i can assure you there is life after death on this earth, i have traveled the other side many times before, however i must warn you that to call the other side will have harsh reciprocation's to those living close to you. the story goes , leave all that is unfinished because it was to be unfinished. A simple way of looking at this is what happens when all living die, does living end???? answer NO ( you cant change the words meaning nor its truth, living remains living and death remains death. so how do we amuse life after death, simple, we just said it LIFE AFTER DEATH..

Amazing what people can convince themselves of if they want to, despite an utter lack of concrete evidence in either direction. Did this "seer" say, 'oh look, it's Tere. She's here to say there's an afterlife.' No, of course not; that would be too easy. "She couldn't communicate with her," is what you would probably argue. But then how did she know that you'd know the message already? There had to be some communication. Follow that up with the various statements about the way that spirits can or cannot behave, such as "when you're a spirit, you can project any form that you want to."
This is precisely the kind of illogical nonsense (stated as absolute and obvious fact) that I detest. What, did dear Tere come back and tell you that's how it is? Or maybe God appeared in a burning bush and let you know?
Let me simplify things: you all are desperate to invent an understanding of something that we inherently cannot understand. It is a response to the pain of loss and the fear of the unknown. There is a much simpler solution than creating answers: accept the lack thereof. Once you get used to that, it's much easier to take life and death as they come, to cherish the time you have, and to not worry about what cannot be known.

Don't you think it rather strange that the seer described your friend as having a corporal body when one would think a departed soul would be ethereal..? ...And being encumbered with a heavy cane, indicating a continuing need for such...lot of detail here...I suspect the seer had inside information you are unaware of that was available to her...Sometimes we want something so much that we unknowingly go to extraordinary lengths to realize them...
On the positive side, it had to be comforting for you to relive that childhood experience with Tere and once again recall your affection for her...
